Story

Collio, in the far north-east of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, captivates with its landscape of rolling hills and charming villages and vineyards as far as the eye can see. Here, mountains and sea, East and West, Southern and Central Europe, with all their cultural expressions, melt into the unique character of the region.

Venetians, Romans and Lombards have left their traces everywhere and so a journey through the villages and towns of the hills becomes a journey through long lost times and eras. For many centuries the area belonged to the Habsburg Empire. Nowhere else had German, Italian, and Slovenian-speaking people lived together in harmony and peace for such a long time.
